It's been a rough couple of weeks. The current health crisis has everyone on edge, and fear is paralyzing many us. To top it off, we lost one of the true giants of jazz a few days ago, the great McCoy Tyner.
McCoy partnered with John Coltrane to forever change the way people play and hear the music.
We will celebrate McCoy's legacy while we use the healing vibrations of real jazz music to put us all in a better state of mind. Please join us.
Janice is one of the most swinging pianists in NYC, and she is in great company with Floody, Hubbard, and the Jazz Rabbi himself.
NYC guitar master Ben Sher is well know to international audiences, as well as Boston listeners (he is a professor of guitar at Boston's famed berklee College) but does not get to Westport very often. He presents a compelling blend of both the jazz and authentic Brazilian guitar traditions. His history with me (Greg) dates back to the early 80's.
Joe and I are joined by a great rhythm section- bassist Joe Fitzgerald (performances with Pat Metheny, Wallace Roney, Bob Mintzer and Dave Liebman) and killing drummer Bob Meyer (Joe Lovano, John Abercrombie, Gary Peacock).
Don't miss this one.
