SUMMARY:The Soothsayer! A Nod to Wayne Shorter
DESCRIPTION:Greg Wall - tenor sax\nDavid DeJesus - alto sax\nDavid Sneider - trumpet\nJen Allen -  piano\nBoots Maleson-  bass\nSteve Johns - drums\nCan there be too much of a good thing? Evidently\, Blue Note Records thought so.  Wayne Shorter was setting the Jazz world on fire\, as music director and primary composer of the Jazz Messengers and his own recordings on Blue Note. After the 1964 releases of “Night Dreamer”\, “Juju” and “Speak No Evil” \, Blue Note decided to hold back the release of his newest record\, a sextet featuring Wayne with Freddie Hubbard\, James Spaulding\, McCoy Tyner\, Ron Carter and Tony Williams.  Due to the plethora of  landmark recordings\, it stayed it the Blue Note vaults for 15 years. When it was released in 1979\, it was received like a newly discovered treasure chest! \nThis show will give the audience the opportunity to hear Wayne's great compositions and arrangements played in the same sequence as the recording. With this crack ensemble of virtuoso players\, you hear what a buried treasure really sounds like!

Greg recorded and toured internationally with Hasidic New Wave\, Later Prophets\, Neshama Carlebach\, Zion 80 and started a long musical relationship with choreographer Carolyn Dorfman\, writing and recording quite a few full length commissioned scores. Even more impressive\, David is the rare artist able to innovate in each category.
