Portal Jazz Quartet
This Connecticutian band of brothers called Portal assembled about a year ago, on a Thursday. Since then they have been researching, writing, and planning their eventual domination of the mainstream. As we all know this is quite a feat! But these four gentlemen are sworn by all that is sacred in good music and are willing to die trying.
Matt Moadel, Drums: This rhythm magician, with two wands in hand can weave a spell so profound that we are left with a message of truth and beauty.
David Morgan, Piano: This man of many voices proves to us that anything is possible when unlocking the truth of the 88 riddles.
Rich Zurkowski, Bass: Rich lives below the Y in Yamaha on your house piano. This quarter note salesman provides deep bass tones for many beautiful people.
Greg Wall, Saxophones: If you were going into battle you would want this man by your side. His firm grasp of tradition only serves to cushion and propel his freer flights.
Your mission if you choose to accept it is as follows: Use our beautiful democracy known as Portal as a model for spreading the message of real music in the real world.
Their brand new EP, Portal Vol. 1 was released this year, and they are busy writing and rehearsing to tour and record their first full-length album in 2018.

A graduate of the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut, Berman has written for, played and recorded with the proverbial who’s who of jazz, pop and rock.
