Mike Camacho is an in demand drummer in New York City. The South Norwalk native has been playing drums since he was 10 years old, when he began lessons with his mentor, local drum teacher John Cutrone.

After completing his studies at the Conservatory at SUNY Purchase and  moving to NYC in 2015, Mike has performed and recorded with a who’s who of New York’s finest musicians. He has appeared at some of the premier jazz venues of the world, including Dizzy’s, Smalls, Cellar Dog, Mezzrow, Smoke, Ornithology, Jazz Forum, Newport Jazz Festival and has also been featured on WBGO Jazz radio.

The Nutmeg Legacy Quintet is a compelling mix of first call players, veterans and young lions,  all hailing from the Nutmeg state, and celebrating the legacy of CT’s Jazz heroes Horace Silver, Gigi Gryce and Jackie McLean
