In addition to presenting regular performances for the general public, The Jazz Society of Fairfield County is committed to creating opportunities for all ages to appreciate, understand, and learn about Jazz. This program, which we call JazzReach, is funded through donations from our supporters and weekly listeners.
To reach audiences that may not be fortunate enough to attend our evening performances, JazzFC brings the music to them through live performances at Senior Centers and other locations.
Our educational clinics expose our youth to live jazz by accomplished and well-known performers, teaching them how to listen, improvise and play in a jazz ensemble while maintaining and exploring individuality and sharpening their musical skills. Many of these young artists are then given the chance to perform in public at JazzFC programs.
JazzFC is also committed to helping young people in Fairfield County who are interested in careers in jazz by providing scholarships for more advanced studies.
JazzReach is our way of ensuring that current and future generations of jazz lovers can enjoy outstanding live performances, expand their knowledge and appreciation of the music and support the creative continuation of this uniquely American art form.
